Gladys Reyes is a Filipina actress best known for her role as “Clara,” the lead villainess from the 90s ABS-CBN hit series Mara Clara. She is the wife of Christopher Roxas. They started as childhood sweethearts in 1993 and got married in 2004 and last year they marked their 25th as a couple.
Recently, the Kapuso actress visited De La Salle University in Taft Avenue for her acting worshop “Moment Ko ‘To.”
According to Gladys: “Biglang may nagbukas sa akin na opportunity nang mag-DM [Direct Message] sa akin ang DLSU, mga college student [ang tuturuan].
“Hindi lang Mass Communication students, may accounting students, iba-iba sila.
“They wanted to invite me to conduct an acting workshop para sa Basic TV and Movie Acting.
“Ang sabi ko, ‘yang workshop, intimate yan. Sabi nila, yung mga hands on sana, mga sixty.
“Ang dami! Sabi ko teka lang, but I found a way.
“Parang mga second year college sila, yung iba, 3rd year college students.
“Ang nakakatawa, ang goal nila for that day, magpasampal sa akin!”
Gladys was surprised when a certain student named Alex Martinez approached her and asked for a request: “Ano po so idol ka po ng nanay ko ‘no, hi po! Pwede pong pasampal?”
The actress was hesitant to do the student’s request saying that the fan’s mom will get mad at her. But still, Gladys granted Martinez’s request.
Martinez said on his tweet: “Si Gladys Reyes ang unang babae na sumampal sa akin and I’m honored.”
It can be heard in the video that another student wanted also to be slapped by the Kapuso actress saying, “Ako rin po, gusto ko rin po masampal.”
Gladys continued: Ilan ang nagpasampal?
“Ang dami! Hindi ko na mabilang!
“Tawang-tawa ako sa kanila.
“If you research sa Twitter, nakakatawa yung mga bata. Ayaw nila ng fake na sampal, gusto nila totoo!”
